Mazzocato Maple Farm had already established a local reputation, as a successful producer of maple products, but had not tapped into positioning themselves as premium; thus limiting their potential for broader reach and greater profitability. In consultation with BANG! creative, a strategy was developed which included a brand and packaging refresh which would elevate the product; allowing for a price adjustment more in line with other premium (maple) brands. Not only could Mazzocato stand behind the undeniable quality of their products, but could further differentiate themselves through their unique production process. They had a story to tell.
The rebrand extended a fresh, contemporary appeal focusing on the Mazzocato name and the maple leaf icon displayed against a graphic sunburst. Standard plastic, maple syrup ‘jugs’ were replaced with more elegant, glass bottles prominently presenting the Mazzocato word mark. Neck and cap seals in bright red with white text and graphics, brought further attention and clearly boosted brand recognition. As the cornerstone of the brand, these elements further established their brand footprint, becoming the primary components in print, online and social media initiatives. While production costs were carefully considered and kept to a minimum, the consistent use of core (brand) assets really hit the mark. Topped off with the launch of a new on-line site, Mazzocato shifted gears to become a fully integrated and secure e-commerce entity, while maintaining their farmer market and event charm.
